Biography
About Reza Rashidi
Dr. Reza Rashidi is Associate Professor of Practice (primary) and Research Associate Professor (secondary) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University at Buffalo. He serves as ABET Coordinator, Director of the Senior Design Lab, coordinator of the MAE senior design sequence, and Senator in the University Senate.
His work connects engineering design, project-based education, applied research, and industry collaboration. His technical background includes AI-enabled engineering design, advanced manufacturing, mechanical systems, sensors and instrumentation, MEMS, energy harvesting, biomedical devices, finite element analysis, failure analysis, and product development.
Before joining UB in 2023, he was a faculty member and department chair at SUNY Alfred, a senior gas-turbine engineer at Siemens Energy, and a researcher at the University of British Columbia.
