 Help

If you are having difficulty in this course, do not suffer in silence!  Help is available, but you must seek it out.  Talk to your classmates, ask them questions.  If you know what is going on, let others know that you're willing to help them; you'll find that you learn much more by teaching others than you do by studying on your own.

Of course, the instructor and the TA are very eager to help you learn fluid mechanics.  Don't be afraid to seek their help either.  Also note that the Tau Beta Pi honorary society provides tutoring services for engineering courses.

Books are another great resource.  Don't get stuck thinking that the class textbook is the only reading that is worthwhile.  Browse through the library for other thermodynamic texts.  You may find another author's presentation of a particular topic to be very illuminating.

Remember, there are all kinds of resources here to help you learn.  That is what the University is all about.  But you must work at it.  The material discussed in this course is difficult, and nobody learns it quickly or easily.  You acquire knowledge and understanding only if you seek and work hard to attain it.
