Linguistics--the scientific study of language--exists at a crossroads of both social and natural science, where to begin doing linguistic analysis, we must have a basic understanding of physics, fluid dynamics, anatomy, sociology, acoustics and anthropology. As I finish my degree, my dream is to bring the knowledge I’ve gained as a researcher combined with the skills I’ve learned through my professional experience to make science and scientific discovery accessible to everyone.
I believe one of my greatest strengths is in my ability to admit when I don't know something (and actually acknowledge it!). The other side of this is being genuinely interested in learning. When I graduated with my bachelors degree, I thought I knew everything, but moving through this terminal degree, I've come to understand that I know like three things. And it's this perspective that allows me to be open to learning new things every day.
Of course! I'm passionate, organized and motivated. I can work in a team or on my own, and I can be an awesome right hand or an excellent leader.
