Welcome to the Park Lab at UB.

The main research focus of the lab is to study the structural and functional properties of biologically important macromolecules and characterize their interactions at a molecular level. In particular, we seek to elucidate the structure-function relationship in protein-protein interactions and protein-small molecule ligand interactions.

In our study, we use a combination of computation (modeling and MD simulations) and both high and low throughput experimental techniques. Computation is used both to plan experiments and to analyze results. Hypotheses are then tested in directed-evolution type of experiments that relies on diversity-oriented library construction and characterization by flow cytometry.

We use computer to run molecular dynamics simulations, model structures, and perform bioinformatics analysis. We design novel high throughput assays based on fluorescence to screen diversity oriented libraries.
