These are already installed on most computers. Please enter a service request if you would like access but do not see them on your computer.
- Jabber - Using Jabber, you can place, receive and manage telephone calls using your Internet-connected computer and a headset, or open a text window to chat with colleagues who are also using Jabber.
- Webex - Cisco Webex is a Web conferencing tool available to UB faculty, staff and students that enables fully interactive video and audio connections with people locally and around the world.
- Zoom - Zoom is an easy-to-use, video communication platform that includes video conferencing, recording, phone, chat and screen sharing. Zoom is available to all UB students, faculty and staff.

Question
Can student employees be configured with remote access?
Answer
Yes. Please submit a ticket at the Getting Help link above. Be sure to include the student's username. If multiple students share the same office computer only one can remote in at a time.
Question
Can I connect my work laptop to my personal printer?
Answer
Yes. We recommend you use a USB printer cable. Please submit a ticket if you need administrative rights to install the printer.

Can I print from remote desktop to my personal printer?
Answer
Yes. Please submit a ticket and we can configure it for you.
Question
Why does my remote session disconnect after 8 hours?
Answer
This is a setting that cannot be changed. You will need to reconnect but don't worry all of your work will still be there.
