Description:
Lake George, located in the southeastern most part of the Adirondack Park, is commonly called the 'Queen of American Lakes' because of its glistening blue waters and rolling mountain terrain. At 32 miles long and 3 miles wide at it's maximum width, Lake George is the largest lake solely within the Adirondack Park.

As with Lake Champlain, a paddling trip on Lake George offers a trip back in history. It was one of the links in the historic waterway that connected this part of the country with the large settlements toward the mouth of the Hudson River.

Avoid paddling the Lake on summer weekends during the day due to lots of motorized boat traffic. Weekday paddling or paddling after 5pm are the best times for this lake. Late spring and early fall are also pretty quiet here.

Duration:
This is really up to you. You can do short day trips or long paddles requiring a stop on an island or at a campground.
