Red Newt
Blue Gale - in blue

Brenda Stynes
I have only been paddling since Summer of 2002, when some friends of mine got me interested in buying a kayak. I was hooked after the first time. Many evenings last summer, I paddled around waterways close to home and found some great places where I could get into the water quickly. I was amazed at how much wildlife I saw.
After a stormy night in Youngstown in 2002, the idea for this site was born (along with a great friendship :)) to show others some great paddling opportunities...

Red Newt - on land

Ever since I can remember I have always been on (or in) the water! I grew up paddling canoes with my family during our annual vacations to Lake George in the Adirondacks. I fell in love with kayaks while attending college at Binghamton University. The University offered a whitewater class so I enrolled and learned the basics, including the good ol' eskimo roll. I got hooked on 'touring' however, while studying & traveling throughout New Zealand. As soon as I returned home I purchased my first boat - a Necky Looksha Sport (14'4", 58 lbs, & speckled red)! I've been happy paddling ever since! I hope you enjoy our website and feel free to contact us at any time. We welcome any contributions too - photos, trip info, and pretty much anything else! Happy paddling everyone!
