What brought you to UB and Qu Lab?

I join Qu Lab in 2018 and I’m currently a Ph.D. Candidate in UB Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Qu Lab provides me with great opportunities to explore the most cutting-edge technologies in LC-MS-based bioanalysis through amounts of projects across disciplines. In Qu Lab, we work in a highly collaborative fashion. Dr. Qu encourages us to find and tap into our unique strengths and potential by participating in many projects. Also, as one of the most reputational Ph.D. programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the UB Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences allows me to build a solid academic foundation and future career advantage.

What is your passion for research?

My research involves developing novel LC-MS-based bioanalytical methods for protein therapeutics and biomarkers to answer important questions in the pharmaceutical sciences field. My current projects focus on developing a novel LC-MS-based platform to investigate the pharmacokinetics, tissue disposition, and off-target toxicities of antibody-drug conjugates. I also have a deep interest in quantitative proteomics, and I’m working on human disease biomarker discovery and validation in biofluids such as sputum and serum biomarkers of Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disease. I also collaborate with lab members and participate in many other projects in the lab.
