What is your passion for research and what are you currently working on?

Biological discovery always intrigues me; however, few tools can reflect the true biological processes systematically. Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics have achieved near-complete proteome coverage in humans and several other organisms, resulting in a wealth of data stored in databases and bioinformatics resources. One of the most important things we care about is the quality of protein quantification. For improving our proteomic pipeline, my current work is to optimize our data processing procedure, producing protein quantification results with better accuracy and precision, even on low-abundance proteins. Further, I created various data processing tools with well-designed interfaces to reduce the barrier to entry for those with limited computational training. I am hoping that my research will advance the field of proteomics a little bit.
