What Jie Pu is currently working on

Jie Pu is currently a 4th year PhD student in Dr. Jun Qu’s lab. She received her B.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from East China University of Science and Technology in 2016. Her undergraduate research concentrated on drug metabolism and metabolite identification of small molecule drugs using LC-MS. She then joined the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in SUNY at Buffalo for her M.S. degree, and continued with PhD in Dr. Jun Qu’s lab because of her strong interest in using novel LC-MS strategies to facilitate the drug development and mechanism investigation. Her work mainly focuses on LC-MS based bioanalysis of biotherapeutics and biomarkers. For instance, recently she developed an LC-MS pipeline to enable accurate and robust absolute quantification of target proteins in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues by LC-MS. Her research interest also included the development of novel LC-MS strategies to facilitate biomarker discovery and quantification in clinical cohorts. Currently, she is working on biomarker discovery and quantification for celiac disease (e.g., gluten immunogenic peptides), as well as for obesity (e.g., adipokines).
