I have worked with many faculty, staff, and students
to provide training to those interested in publishing to the web
and have witnessed firsthand the process of learning of the individuals
that have gone through this training. In addition to workshops that
have been offered, one-on-one sessions teaching web publishing skills
are also a regular occurrence.
One particular faculty member who has taken advantage
of this type of training is Judith Robinson , of the Department
of Library and Information Science. Judith's skill level has increased
dramatically in her ability to create course web sites. She has
also created many in-depth web sites for classes and workshops that
have been delivered completely online.

Professor Robinson has received positive feedback
from her students regarding the clear and aesthetic presentation
of information through her web sites. She uses a good amount of
graphic images to demonstrate concepts throughout her sites. Judith
has become a very confident user of the software programs Dreamweaver
and Photoshop as tools to assist in the development process.
In the initial stages of working with Judith she
was hesitant to try new ideas on her course web sites. Lately when
we meet, she has many questions regarding how to accomplish tasks
that she has seen implemented on other sites. These questions often
challenge our knowledge base and require further research in order
to get back to her with an answer. This is one of the exciting things
about working with instructional technology; we are always researching
new ways to assist the learning process.
