WWS house in CG
Photograph of Shortridge/Keyes (circa 1910?).   I am guessing that this is the Cottage Grove, Oregon, home of William Wallace Shortridge and Ellen Jane Keyes, which was built by William Wallace Shortridge and still stands today (house stands inside the city of CG).  The woman on the right is clearly Ellen Jane (Keyes) Shortridge standing next to her youngest son, Lester Ray Shortridge.  The woman on the left might be Ellen's older (by two years) sister, Mary Elizabeth Keyes, who died in Roseburg in 1911.   If this is correct, this photo would have been taken prior to that time.  The apparent young age of Lester (born in 1890) is consistent with this idea. .

The two images on the right are known photographs of William Wallace Shortridge taken later in life, the middle one in the late 1800's and the one on the right in 1903.  The question is if the person shown on the left is a young William Wallace Shortridge?  This person appears in the photo below which is alleged to be of William and his father, Samuel Boone Shortridge.  If so, then the photograph would have been taken prior to 1877 which is the year that Samuel Boone Shortridge died.  In 1877, William Wallace Shortridge would have been 41 years old which is consistent with the apparent age of the man in question.  I've tried to trace the origin of the photograph and was told that it came from the Cottage Grove Historical Society in Oregon with the identities of the two men unverified.
