Sharon Ana Entress (or simply Ana as she is known by friends and family) is inspired by myths debunked by data, action propelled by facts, research informed by voices on the ground, and the idea of strengthening Western New York where she enjoys working and living. As a senior policy analyst at the University at Buffalo Regional Institute, she has had a great opportunity to apply a range of research and analytical skills to client-driven projects addressing a variety of topics from educational impacts to health care system performance and philanthropy. In addition to her experience with data collection and analysis, legal research, survey design, and indicator development, she brings a special expertise in economic impact analysis. Using an IMPLAN modeling system, she has conducted studies for many institutions of higher education, arts and cultural organizations and a major health insurer. With undergraduate studies in economics and microbiology from the University of Rochester and a law degree from UB, her diverse educational background lays a strong foundation for her ability to handle a great diversity of projects and client needs. Prior to coming to UB, she worked several years in the insurance industry in Hartford, Connecticut. Outside of work, she enjoys serving at her church, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, working with a children's outreach group in Buffalo and bicycling for the annual Ride for Roswell. With a current passion for cross-country skiing and the region's vast array of parks, she has grown to love Buffalo's winters no less than any other time of year. |
