Refrigerator controls
Figure 1

Can the refrigerator controls be operated with one hand, and do they not require any tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist?

Ideally, the refrigerator should be located with the latch side of the door next to a section of counter with a removable base cabinet. In this location, residents who use wheelchairs can pull under the counter and reach the inside of the refrigerator compartment easier.
Refrigerator clear floor space
Figure 2

Does a clear floor space of 30 x 48 inches provide either a front or a parallel approach to the refrigerator/freezer?

Refrigerator controls
Figure 3

If only a front approach is provided, are the controls no higher than 48 inches?

If a parallel approach is provided, are the controls no higher than 54 inches? (see Figure 3)
