cOMING ATTRACTIONS MY "Retrospective Reading at Burchfield. NOVEMBER 23"
(ORIGINALLY JULY 1--HOPE IT IS TRUE INDEED I DO.)
I recommend googlizing "Lisa Jarnot" or "Elizabeth Willis"
(or of course both) I think you will be surprised at the
range of entries.
The following is not typical of anything and will
expire after the coming election
BEATING ABOUT THE BUSH
Paradise? Inferno?
That's nonsense
from the New York Times.
We all live in a patriotic Purgator
Honest hard working folks know
Purgatory is good for you
Climbing.... climbing...
Some slip...slide...fall
Some are losers.
I understand that
Losers create new markets
New markets create pension plans
One good pension can a killing
One man's killing is another man's wipe out
War creates democracy.
Democracy creates man and female marriages
And best of all
Mr. and Mrs. Portinari created Beatrice.
The brightest little Miss Sunshine in all of Purgatory.
Some updates for my cv.

Kevin Killian's two sentences on Spicer:
Spicer, I think, appeals to the young because his poetry is filled with
strong, resonant statements which are simultaneously denied, undermined,
negated, just as young people are prone to large statements they don't
"mean" the very next second. To people a little older, Spicer will always
be a poet of extreme mystery and fascination because of his struggle with
the materiality of language.
MICHAEL BASINSKI'S art lines appear in Jonathan Skinner's
ECOPOETICS no.2 (Peter Gizzi's last name seems woven into the fourth
one.)
