The
PerkinElmer DSC-4000 assesses differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)
to evaluate the relationship between a heat capacity and temperature.
The instrument is used for identifying phase changes and glass
transitions for pharmaceutical materials, including therapeutic
proteins. The DSC-4000 is located within the
Pharmaceutical Sciences Instrumentation Facility in Kapoor 314. The
PSIF was established in the late 1990’s to provide shared access to
both high-end and lower-end instrumentation for the School, and also
serves users in the University and Western New York region. Please
contact Dr. Straubinger to inquire about the availability of this instrument.
