The Minimum Information about a Biosynthetic Gene Cluster (MIBiG) website contains thousands of BGCs that are responsible for the production of microbial natural products. The website describes chemicals, biosynthetic enzymes, and literature references, as well as links to links to genetic data at the NCBI.
To add to this resource, we have created a table of structurally characterized genes within these BGCs. The dataset of MIBiG 4.0 (release Nov 2024) was compared to the Protein Data Bank to identify proteins with a sequence identity over 95% over a stretch of more than 100 amino acids. The table below links to the PDB for any protein within the BGC. The filter option can search any text within the table including MIBiG #, compounds, BGC Class, or organism. References describing the structure are available at the PDB and will often contain associated functional data.
