Sunrise at Temple Of The Virgins
At the start of our second day, we had to catch sunrise upon the Alter of Sacrifice and Temple of the Virgins. The distinctive table top cliff (photo left) was named for the red iron oxide streaking down its front. This wash of minerals confers the appearance of blood on a sacrificial alter.
