Betting As A Student

Introduction

Have you been wondering if betting as a student is a good idea or not? Well the same as everything in life you can make one of two decisions here, either you can try it out or not - the decision is entirely yours alone. There is a reason why students may be put off trying betting in the first place: They have to visit a ‘bricks and mortar’ casino. There exist many usual stereo-types concerning students. They may not like to get dressed up in a suit or don’t want to leave their rooms – these are some very good reasons why you might not want to visit a casino. Why not visit an online casino instead of a real one?

Student’s betting in bricks and mortar casinos

Of course there exist no reasons why a student should visit a ‘bricks and mortar’ casino and start playing games and gambling. However, apart from the most relaxed and affluent of students they will think it’s somewhat like an alien environment. Maybe it’s not the dress code which ward you, because these days just few casinos have anything but the most minimal of restrictions as to what you need to be wearing to gain admittance. The age profile, however, in a ‘bricks and mortar’ casino may well seem strange as you will probably see few people in their late teens or early twenties, if the casino will admit you below a certain age anyway! The majority of students is used to a people of all ages, but the strange environment will make them feel less comfy and relaxed which isn’t the way you want to feel, if you’re about to start playing in a casino poker game or at the roulette wheel. The question of affluence probably needs little explanation at all. Not all students are poor therefore there is no reason why they shouldn’t bet or gamble with the money they have. After all if students have enough disposable money for all the electronic gadgets like a phone or a notebook, not to mention all the money they spend on ‘socializing’ and restaurants etc. – then for some, if not many, will have enough funds for gambling and betting. However, when confronted with other people in a casino setting knowing when to leave a game, or even just playing slot machines, can become difficult when the inevitable ‘red mist’ comes on and your mind is telling you “go on, a little more, you can win if you play more …”. You just have to keep in mind that if the funds are low, you won’t have a pay check next month or be able to get a new loan for students to cover any losses! Also, be always careful and never bet more than you actually have and more than you can afford to lose.

Students bet online

If you’re a student and really want to try out betting you might prefer visiting one of those online casino websites. In an online casino you can play the same games like in a ‘bricks and mortar’ casino. You also have some advantages if you are playing online casino games as a student. If you think of the stereo-types again- you don’t have to get dressed up and you don’t have to leave the room to gamble and play. Joking apart that means you are also saving money because you don’t need to buy some decent (even if that just means pants not blue jeans or a shirt not a T-shirt) clothes to go into a casino. You also save money by not having any additional travel costs and, unlike ‘bricks and mortar’ casinos - online ones don’t have an admission charge. For example, if you want to play an online poker game most of the reputable online casinos will offer you poker games where the buy-ins and bets are just a few dollars each at most, thereby you reduce the risk of making a heavy loss. Look out for things like online poker game tournaments for beginners, because they have good deals.

Student's and sports betting

There is also the possibility of placing sports bets too, if you’ve found an online betting site that you like. You’ll be able to place bets on different sports like baseball games, football or professional horse races. You could also place bets on NCAA events like the March Madness and the College Rose Bowl – and support your very own university/college team.
