Casino Money Management

Introduction

In the beginning it is the most important thing to state: Winning streaks don’t make you invincible and a greedy gambler is simple one heading for a fall! So if you want to avoid ending up in debt then getting to grips with your casino money management is an absolutely essential factor. Quite simply, when you hit a winning streak be grateful and thankful for it, enjoy it to the full – but never let your emotions get the better of you and start to think that your winning ways will never stop. A lot of people did that before and you are well aware of where they ended once this streak was over.

Keep your bankrolls close to you

As a matter of fact it is a common acknowledged that once you get tempted to think that you will just keep on winning more and more the only possible outcome really is that you will end up with all of your bankrolls blown away. And you do not only lose the money you started out gambling with, but also all the cash you accumulated during the winning streak. So the starting number one for the rules of the right casino management is: ‘Having the strength of character to say to you – hey, I’ve had some good wins here and that’s it for today’. Never mind all those around you egging you on as you surely cannot lose tonight! If you really want to enjoy your winnings then you need to leave with them, not give them all back to the casino with some rash decisions having been lured into bets that you wouldn’t have contemplated without the money you’d just won. Having said that, when you play in a casino you really need to adopt the attitude that you’re going to spend money there, so walking away with just some of your bankrolls can make you feel like a winner – a winner that saw reason.

Set a budget – stick to it!

We all need to remember that whilst enjoying a night at the casino, or playing online casino games, is great fun - come tomorrow we also need to be able to pay the mortgage and put food on the table. For this matter it is actually quite helpful to set you a certain budget and to stick to it. Setting the budget definitely is easy, but really sticking to it can be a huge problem for a lot of people. One way to get around facing this problem is to open a gambling account that holds only whatever your budget for the gambling period of time you specify. Then you just have to drill into your head that once it is gone – it is gone. If you should feel tempted to top up your funds, then think on this scenario: You’re going away on vacation, you decide how much money to take with you to spend - how likely are you to go way over the budget you decide on spending whilst away? Most folk won’t go much over their vacation budget - and your gambling budget needs to be treated the same. You’re playing in a casino to enjoy yourself - not make your life misery after it. So, when you’ve spent your limit - walk out the door or log-off that computer and you’ll be perfectly fine.

To quit or not to quit?!

The big question is – how do you know when it is about time to quit? Well, playing in a casino where you are actually using cash is, to say the least, very rare these days so if you play with cast you can easily see how that bankroll is diminishing and you budget is minimizing. However, with chips it’s a whole lot harder to keep track of what you’re spending. So, to help with this just don’t put all your money into chips as soon as you arrive at the casino, instead split your money into two or three pots for chips throughout the session. That way you’ll be a lot more conscious of how well you’re doing at the tables. One a second base you should make sure you know the odds for winning before playing any computer game. If you actually do not know about the games’ odds, you are never going to know when to place a good bet, as opposed just to just speculatively making a bet. But also very important is being aware not to keep chasing your losses - if “lady luck” isn’t with you - then that one big win to recoup your losses is certainly not just around the corner. Finally, be prepared to be honest with yourself. No one knows you better than you do and if you lose it a bit when you’ve had a drink - then sip your drinks slowly and have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks in-between. If you’re stressed or in a bad frame of mind arriving at the casino - your betting judgment will reflect your state of mind. As you well know if you enjoy playing poker, keeping that cool clear head is absolutely essential if you want to win.
