What the database does: The first thing that our database does is to simplify the process of recording and tracking revenue for the clubs for the year. The database does this by compiling all of the information about the events, the individual deposits per event, and then links this information with each individual club. This information is relevant because the club information consists of the actual club budget and the amount that each club needs to fundraise. The database simplifies the process of checking which clubs need to fundraise how much in order to maintain their permanent club status. The database also gives us the opportunity to create useful reports, such as a list of all clubs by council, list of clubs that have a budget greater than $10,000 and an easy and convenient way of tracking the deposits made by each club per event that was held for that club.
