Current Activities

My time is divided among several professional activities. Listed below are brief summaries of the major activities.

Textbook Writing

Research Methods.I have completed work on the Fourth Edition of the Graziano and Raulin Research Methods textbook, now published by Allyn & Bacon. This book includes an accompanying CD supplement (Raulin & Graziano, Exploring Research) and in Instructor's Manual and computerized test-item file. There is also has a web site for this text (www.graziano-raulin.com).

Abnormal Psychology. I have a contract with Allyn & Bacon for an abnormal psychology textbook. I will be the sole author of that text, although I have two partners on the project (Scott Lilienfeld of Emory University and Ed Katkin of SUNY at Stony Brook). The partners will not be responsible for writing, but will review everything that I write and will offer suggestions as to organization, coverage, and content. The projected completion date for the abnormal text is June 1, 2001, with a release date of August, 2002 (2003 copyright date).

Teaching

I am currently working half-time to permit more time for the textbook writing. I teach courses relatively infrequently at this point. I am scheduled to teach an honors seminar in the Fall of 1999.

Research

I will not be active in research for the next few years because of my commitment to the above textbook projects. I do anticipate writing up two or three completed studies as time permits.

Clinical Work

I am continuing as the Director of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at that State University of New York at Buffalo. In that capacity, I see clients in both individual and group therapy who suffer from anxiety disorders (especially panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder). I have recently started working with Janet Shucard to create an Insomnia Clinic through the Sleep Disorders Center of Millard Fillmore Hospital. This clinic will provide behavioral treatment for chronic insomnia. I also have a small private practice through an office in Downtowm Buffalo.
