Peaches has found his forever home!

Peaches, a beautiful 2 year old neutered and front declawed orange tabby, who was left all alone in an empty house last Fall and did not work out in his second home, has been adopted again, and (we hope!) gone to his forever home.

Peaches first home was with an elderly lady who moved to a nursing home after his first 1.5 years. He is a "trigger" cat, and will usually be stimulated to bite after just a few minutes of handling. We had hoped he would improve in his second home, but ultimately his second elderly and somewhat fragile companion could not deal with his biting. We don't know for sure the reason for his behavior (it could be genetic), but speculate it might be due tot the trauma of being declawed and somewhat isolated during his early social bonding months.

Many, many thanks to Miranda at A Purrfect Paw, who took him in, cared for him, and helped him recover from the trauma of being ripped from his second home. Miranda observed that Peaches was ok with other cats and dogs, so we hoped that someone with other animals would be willing to give him a try.

Peaches will never be a lap cat or a cuddle muffin, and that is just fine with Terry and her son, who are quite happy to let Peaches be as he is. He is now happily residing in their home, has met their other cat and their two dogs, and is once again eating his canned food and seems to be thriving after just a few days there.

Once again, it is folks like Terry who step forward to adopt these tough cases who really make all the difference in this rescue work -- I can't thank them enough! -- Pam
