This position requires a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and is
part of the Applied Technology Group. The Process Development
Engineer is responsible for optimization of existing commercial
processes, or for definition of new world-class technology to
produce existing products. The class of products and technologies
is extremely wide, ranging from chlor-alkali and numerous chrome,
phosphate, and silicate inorganics to ethylene and ethylene derivatives.
The responsibilities of this position include the definition and
simulation of new manufacturing processes or of optimized process
conditions on a laboratory scale. These studies are followed either
by scale-up to pilot or demonstration level, or can lead to a
full scale commercial plant test. In many instances, sophisticated
