On Friday, July 20, Mark and I drove over to the Oregon side of the Columbia river to do some more hiking along the many trails that lead to spectacular views of the waterfalls before heading back into Portland to catch the flights back to where we came from..  I don't recall which fall this was but it was a timely picture as this Japanese women was performing some ritual near the base of the it.  This was the only picture that I have of the ritual as the roll of film ran out.  By the time I had the new roll in the camera, the ritual was over.

This is a picture of some of the old growth that we often saw in the forest as we worked on the trails.  It was said that some of these tress are in excess of 400 years old.  These two trees were outside the shower facility at the base of the Hamilton Mountain trail.
