As Don, Johann, Robert and I were heading back to the van, we heard a lot of scurrying coming from the side of the trail were we located some of the rocks for the rock wall.  We knew we disturbed some garter snakes (they are harmless) favorite hiding places, when we noticed this green snake laying near the side of the trail.  Don immediately picked it up and told us it was a rubber boa (another harmless snake).  Johann took it back to camp and it was our mascot for a few days before releasing it back to the wild as we broke camp on Friday, July 20, 2001.
