I am an assistant professor in the department of philosophy at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. Before that I was a Ph.D. student at Princeton University and an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I now live in Buffalo's Elmwood Village with my wife, Lori, and my son, Julian (left). My research interests are in metaphysics and epistemology broadly construed, but especially the philosophy of language and mind. My current research focuses on propositional attitude ascription, the foundations of propositional conceptions of semantics, the nature of metaphysical modality, and the relationship between epistemic and metaphysical modalities. On this site you will find information concerning some of my current research, my teaching, my curriculum vitae, and links to other sites of interest. |
