The Evening Management Program (EMP) is designed to prepare students
for eventual managerial roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors.
The cirriculum emphasizes both broad exposure to mathematics and the
social sciences, and a general education in management studies. The
progam of study in management gives particular attention to understanding
the role of business firm in the society; the managment functions of
planning and control; the behavior of the organizations; the tools of
modern management, including accounting, economics, and statistics; and
the ways in which managers perform such functions as production,
marketing, finance, and industrial relations.
The program is accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools
of Business (AACSB). An accounting option is available, completion of
which qualifies the student to take the New York State CPA examination.
There are also concentrations in the areas of financial analysis,
marketing, human resources management, internal auditing, international
business, and management information systems.
