Provides for central Web services including campus Web server administration, Search Engine indexing, video streaming and Web based tools (Oracle, Perl, CGI) in UNIX, Windows, Linux(pilot) environments.

 

Directs and coordinates CIT’s Academic Software Licensing program that includes the iConnect@UB hardware/software standards process, the Software Advisory Committee and associated software acquisition, budget and access policies and procedures. Spearheaded development of an Oracle database to gather and display information on licensing and support of software on campus.

 

Provided Academic Computing user support services for faculty, staff, students and research users include managing a central University HelpDesk and usernames for all campus users (40,000).  Advanced consulting services include assistance with database, statistical and mathematical applications on UNIX, Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems.

 

Collaborates with faculty and campus IT support professionals to continually ensure a quality, easy to use computing and networking user environment that properly supports the teaching, learning and research mission of the University.

Planned and implemented the client network environment and information architecture for instruction, research and office automation, including all student lab(20) interfaces and network setups. Established hardware and software standards and provided pre-purchase technology consultation and testing for integration into BSC computing environment. Responsible for Academic computing technology support services  including central HelpDesk , usercodes, documentation, training and training facilities, installation of College-wide software.

 

Provided faculty development in emerging technologies and Web-based courseware.  Procured a SUNY grant for multimedia courseware development in Chemistry and the Performing Arts. Instructor for “Hypermedia Programming for Educators” Graduate course.
