My name is Marissa Christman. I am 22 years old. I graduated in May '09 with a BA in History from Niagara University. [Just to refresh your memory.] I think I will concentrate on reference librarianship but I have also thought about becoming a freelance indexer or working within the publishing industry. I realize that I misspoke in class when I said that info. technology is my weakest area within LIS. My job doing accounts payable at a nursing facility introduced me to many of these Info. Tech. concepts without me even knowing it. As for me as a person, I spend my spare time reading endlessly, dabbling in geneology and hanging out with a small group of tight friends. I still work full-time and I am enrolled full-time so spare time is scant. I am also moving this month and planning a wedding. My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years proposed to me on Christmas Eve. So I guess you could say I'm starting anew. I look forward to seeing what this class, and this program, have in store for me. My picture is of my father and me when I was young. He passed away 2 1/2 years ago. He was a renaissance man of sorts who endowed me (both genetically and environmentally) with the insatiable curiosity that makes me who I am.
