The University at Buffalo Information System Online (BISON) is a gateway to the wide range of library and electronic information resources and services offered through UB Libraries located at http://ublib.buffalo.edu.
Search the UB Libraries Catalog to locate books, magazines, journals, and multimedia in the UB Libraries Collection. From the UB Libraries Catalog page, click on the Libraries Catalog Button to begin a search. The Web Catalog Help page provides examples of how to search the catalog. If an item in the Web Catalog is marked "currently checked out" to another library user, you may recall it by using the Recall/Hold Request Form. When the book is returned and held for you, the University Libraries will send you a notification letter.
Articles using Online Resources
To find journal articles search the many electronic databases available through the University Libraries.
Reserve Materials Online
Readings placed on reserve by your instructor for your courses may be available in full-text online. Consult the BISON Course Reserve page for instructions on how to Search the Catalog for Course Reserve Readings and how to Access and View Course Reserve Materials. A copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader is necessary for viewing reserve materials online and can be downloaded for free. <<<<maybe there should be a library page about acrobat and pdf for the unitiated>>>

Once you have checked out books or other materials from the library, you may renew your books online up to three times by using the UB Libraries Renewal Request Form. Books may not be renewed if they are overdue or have been recalled for another user. Also, books borrowed through an Interlibrary Loan Request from a library other than from UB cannot be renewed.
