The Buffalo (NY) Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) has over 250 members and is a part of the American Association of University Women, headquartered in Washington, DC.

AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

AAUW encourages diversity and has adopted the following: In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

AAUW has more than 1,300 AAUW branches across the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Dues vary by state and branch and include dues for national membership. In addition to the benefits offered all AAUW members enjoy opportunities to network at the local level, sponsor community action projects to promote equity, serve in branch leadership positions, and lobby local and state legislators on AAUW priority issues.
