Welcome !
Hi there, my name is Jianping Xiang. I came to Buffalo from Hubei, China in Jan. of 2007. Since then, I have been studying at Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Hemodynamics Lab of Toshiba Stroke Research Center (TSRC) as a Ph.D. candidate working with professor Hui Meng. TSRC is the most famous stroke research center in USA and the director - L.N. Hopkins is a recognized leader in the field of cerebral microvascular - neuroendovascular surgery and has served on numerous boards and committees.
For more about me, please go to my Resume.
My current research involved several inter-related areas:
- Hemodynamic-Morphologic Discriminants for Intracranial Aneurysm Rupture.
- Computational modeling of fluid dynamics of Pipeline Embolization Device with realistic mechanical expansion from Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Alteration of Intra-aneurysmal Hemodynamics for Flow Diversion Using Enterprise and Vision Stents.
- Intracranial vascular interventional device design and optimization such as intracranial stent and coiling for treating cerebral aneurysms.
- Comparison of Newtonian and non-Newtonian flows in Cerebral Aneurysms.
- CFD application in correlating hemodynamic parameters with vascular remodeling at bifurcation apex of rabbit.
