for downloading resume
as a plain text file, without
pagination
When the resume is downloaded, your browser
will just display the text.
The text begins in column 1, with a maximum
line length of 66 characters. There are no form feeds, page headers,
or page numbers in the file.
The following procedure is recommended for
printing the resume from your browser:

From Netscape Communicator 4.5:
To specify the font and font size, click on
Edit > Preferences
> Appearance > Font, and note the current
settings for Fixed
Width Font and the corresponding Size,
so that you can restore them after printing the resume. Select Courier
New as the Fixed
Width Font and 12
as the corresponding Size. Then click OK.
To specify the remaining settings, click on
File > Page Setup,
and note the current settings for Margins,
Header,
and Footer,
so that you can restore them after printing the resume. In the Margins
box, type in 1.00"
for Top,
1.00"
for Bottom,
1.00"
for Left,
and 1.00"
for Right.
Next, deselect everything in the Header
box, and select only Page
number in the Footer
box. Then Click OK.
To print the resume, click on File
> Print. Then click OK.
To restore the original font and font size,
click on Edit
> Preferences > Appearance > Font.
Select the settings for Fixed
Width Font and the corresponding Size
that you noted before changing them. Then click OK.
To restore the margins, header, and footer,
click on File
> Page Setup. Type in the settings
in the Margin
box, and select the items in the Header
and Footer
boxes, that you noted before changing them. Then click OK.

From Internet Exlorer 4.0:
To specify the font size, click on View
> Fonts, and note the currently selected
font size, so that you can restore it after printing the resume.
Click on Large.
To specify the remaining settings, click on
File > Page Setup,
and note the current settings for Margins,
Header,
and Footer,
so that you can restore them after printing the resume. In the Margins
box, type in 1.00"
for Left,
1.00"
for Right,
1.00"
for Top,
and 1.00"
for Bottom.
Next, in the Headers
and Footers box, type in Resume
of Joel S. Rose as the Header,
and &b-&p-
as the Footer.
Then click OK.
To print the resume, click on File
> Print. Then click OK.
To restore the original font size, click on
View > Fonts.
Then click on the font size that you noted before changing it.
To restore the margins, header, and footer,
click on File
> Page Setup. Type in the settings
in the Margin
box, and the text in the Headers
and Footers box, that you noted before
changing them. Then click OK.
To save the resume instead of (or in addition
to) printing it from the browser, click on File
> Save As, and specify an appropriate
directory and file name. The default file name is JoelRoseResume.txt.
Later, you can open the file using Notepad.
To print the resume from Notepad, use the following
procedure:
There is no control over the font setting.
To specify the margins, header, and footer,
click on File
> Page Setup, and note the current
settings for Margins,
Header,
and Footer,
so that you can restore them after printing the resume. In the Margins
box, type in 1.00"
for Left,
1.00"
for Right,
1.00"
for Top,
and 1.00"
for Bottom.
Next, type in Resume
of Joel S. Rose in the Header
box, and -&p-
in the Footer
box. Then Click OK.
To print the resume, click on File
> Print.
To restore the margins, header, and footer,
click on File
> Page Setup. Type in the settings
in the Margin
box, and the text in the Header
and Footer
boxes, that you noted before changing them. Then click OK.
