Manage the Fleet and Warehouse operations of the largest public university in New York and New England with a student base of 25,000 full and part-time students.
Fleet operations consist of two 12,000 square foot repair facilities on two campuses with a combined staff of 13 technicians and supervisors and a budget of over $1,000,000, including personnel services. Responsible for the repair and preventive maintenance services of a fleet in excess of 320 licensed units and over 300 non-licensed units. Responsible for the evaluation, specification, and purchase of replacement vehicles and equipment. Coordinate and manage the accident reporting system for campus vehicles including cost recovery and self-insurance responsibilities. Manage the implementation of EPACT regulations concerning alternative fueled vehicles, including the specification and purchase of alternative fueled vehicles. Manage the operation of an on-campus tri-fuel center including gasoline, diesel fuel and compressed natural gas (CNG). Manage an on-campus rental vehicle fleet supplemented by a contracted vendor of rental vehicles for use by University personnel.
Warehouse operations consist of a 33,000 square foot central storage, receiving and distribution facility with a staff of six. The facility also serves as the Central Stores operation for the two campuses of the University. The operation also is the central processing point for all surplus campus assets.
