Hua (Helen) Wang, Ph.D.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior at the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.  I teach and conduct research on communication technology, health promotion, and social change.  I am particularly interested in the communication strategies and transformative processes in mediated as well as non-mediated human interactions for the purpose of promoting the well-being of individuals, communities, and societies at large.  My current projects focus on the social dynamic and evolution of social network sites, digital gaming practices, and online community participation.  I am also working on the networked play for change and transmedia storytelling for entertainment-education.  Some of my key words are:
