The AD590 is a small temperature transducer that converts a temperature input into a proportional current output.

The advanced technology in the AD590 is especially suited for special temperature measurement and control applications between –55 and 150°C when solid state reliability, linearity and accuracy are required. The AD590 can be used to determine minimum, average, and differential temperatures, in addition to being used for thermocouple cold junction compensation and temperature control applications. The size and responsiveness of the AD590 make it perfect for uses where size is a consideration, such as on PC boards or heat sinks.

LM135

Wide Range: (Continous) -55°C to +150°C

The LM135 series are precision, easily-calibrated, integrated circuit temperature sensors. Operating as a 2-terminal zener, the LM135 has a breakdown voltage directly proportional to absolute temperature at +10 mV/°K. With less than 1W dynamic impedance the device operates over a current range of 400 µA to 5 mA with virtually no change in performance. When calibrated at 25°C the LM135 has typically less than 1°C error over a 100°C temperature range. Unlike other sensors the LM135 has a linear output. Applications for the LM135 include almost any type of temperature sensing over a -55°C to +150°C temperature range. The low impedance and linear output make interfacing to readout or control circuitry especially easy.

TMP36

Wide Range: –40 C to +125 C,

A TMP36 from Analog Devices is used as the temperature sensor (IC3 in figure 1). It's typical output voltage is 750mV at 25°C, and it's scale factor is 10mV/°C. The output voltage range is 100mV (-40°C) to 2000mV (+150°C). The trimmer RV1 is used to calibrate the sensor. The calibration is intended to be done only once at a single temperature (room temperature). This should give acceptable accuracy due to good linearity of both the sensor and the node's internal A/D-converter.
