For a Saturday roadtrip in my new Forester we went to see a windpower generator in Wethersfield, south of Buffalo in Wyoming County. Manufactured by Vestas, the ten turbines are 213 feet (70m) high, with blades 77 feet long. You'll see a glamor shot of Kel, a scruffy shot of me (I think it's me!), and if you zoom in on the second to last picture you'll see my Forester at the base of one of these behemoths!! They're amazingly quiet and provide enough power for roughly 1700 households. (See a Sep 7, '00 Buffalo News article for more details.
