Our MGS 351 project is designing an Access database which will be able solve a business problem or has business value for a company or organization, for which one of our members could be considered a business expert.

With this task in mind we chose to create a brother contacts database for professional business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon , which would provide current brothers and alumni to search information more effectively. ?S? (Pi Sigma Epsilon) is the only national, professional fraternal organization in sales, marketing, and management in the United States. Our group member Xi Chen is current brother.

Each year, there are new pledges join the fraternity and current brothers graduate become alumni. Our database organize the information of work experience, location, concentration .etc. of all current brothers and alumni. By using this system, current brothers will be able to search and connect with alumni brothers who might be able to prove help all over the country; for alumni brothers, or employer, they will be able to reach the specific talent they need in the fraternity.

Business Value for each report

Pi Sigma Epsilon offers a variety of programming to its members. Programming is available through a local to national level for all the chapters. The programming offered through PSE is designed for members to gain lifetime skills that they can use throughout their careers. Hence, for connecting all the cheaters all over the county, providing brothers an efficiency way to find out the certain type of connection they need, we created the following 5 reports and the functions are as followed:

1.GPA-Concentration Report

(Group brothers and alumni by GPA and their concentration. For example: Group of Brothers who is Marketing concentration and has 3.2+ GPA.)

2.Graduated Date – Work experience (# of yr.)

(Group brothers and alumni by the graduation date and how much work experience they have. For example: Group of Brothers who is graduating in 2 years but do not has experience.)

3.Location-Concentration Report

(Group brothers and alumni by Location and their concentration. For example: Group of Brothers who is in buffalo and concentration is finance)

4.Employment-Department Report

(Search brothers and alumni by the employment state and their work department. For example: Brothers who is in sale department as a manager)

5.Department-Location Report

(Group brothers and alumni by different city and their department. For example: Search Brothers who is in new york city and working in finance department)
