Interlibrary Loan Specialist: Shared Services

SUNY Potsdam College Libraries, Potsdam, New York

  • Oversee Interlibrary Loan (ILL) operations across two SUNY college campuses, uniting the two into a shared service
  • Provide systems support for ILL technology, including (but not limited to) ILLiad ILL management (staff clients, server issues, patron webpages, web-based circulation); participate in upgrades of systems software and conduct testing
  • Act as the libraries' primary contact with the Information Delivery Service (IDS) Project and other ILL communities; in consultation with these resources, develop procedures, workflows, training materials, and documentation to optimize operation efficiency
  • Manage copyright compliance processes, gather use statistics, and strive to meet local and statewide performance standards
  • Respond to requests and queries from SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam patrons
  • Train ILL staff and student employees on ILL procedures and collaborate with library staff on policy issues; work closely with colleagues at both campuses to ensure ILL process and patron services are effective and timely
