This map presents the results of the 2016 Presidential Election by county. The color red represents counties that voted mostly republican, while the color blue represents counties that voted mostly republican. A transparent layer was added to depict counites with more votes as a bolder shade of red/blue, while counties with a lesser number of votes were depicted as a more subdued shade. Presenting the data in this fashion shows that most of the Republican votes for the past election came from more rural and less populated areas, while most of the democratic votes came from population dense areas.
