Cluster Info

Our cluster "parity" is housed and administered by the Center for Computational Research (CCR) at UB's downtown campus.

Nodes i03n25-i03n36, and i04n25-i04n32 consist of 8 nehalem processors each, and a total of 24 GB of memory. The FAT nodes, i04n33-i04n36, have 48 GB of memory each.

The PBS script for your "generic" 4-processor computation on the nehalem system should look like:

#PBS -q parity
#PBS -l walltime=04:00:00,nodes=1:ppn=4

To use one of the large memory nodes, just add some FAT:

#PBS -q parity
#PBS -l walltime=04:00:00,nodes=1:ppn=4:FAT

If the walltime is not given, the default is 2000 hours.

We also have two nodes with 12 processors (d11n17 and d11n18) and a total of 48 GB of memory each. These can be requested by using the BIG attribute in your pbs script, or simply by asking for 12 processors.

 

Projects Space

Large files can be stored in the "projects" space at /projects/ezurek/... You can create your own subdirectories there. These files are not automatically readable by others in the group.
