Events in the 1900s
  1. It is appropriate to use the variable "year event occurred" as the explanatory variable beause it is the actual year the event took place. The "estimated year event occurred" is the response variable because it is just a guess of when the event occurred.
  2. If I had guessed the correct years in which the events took place, the scatterplot would not show two different data sets. The "estimated" and "actual" years would be overlapping.
