Professor Holmes' Website

Nigerian Scammer

I recieved an email with an offer to buy a car I had listed for sale. With the scam so obvious, I decided to have some fun with it! After recieving the inital offer to send me a check for more than I was asking, I agreed that I would cash it and return the additional funds.

I recieved a letter in the mail a short time after agreeing to the sale. It contained a letter and a cheque made out to me for an addition $7,500 above what i was asking.

Once I had the cheque, the real fun began. The scammer was trying to get in contact with me via the phone number I gave him. I was also informed at this time that the money was going to be sent to an "orphanage" and that I should mail a cheque out as soon as possible as these kids needed it.
