HOSPIC-L is intended for all persons interested in discussing:
1) The general philosophy and approach to Hospice care ("caring"
vs. "curing"; maximizing "quality" of life, not "length"
of life; supporting holistically--in mind, body and spirit.)
2) Specific approaches to relieve pain and dis-EASE, including
traditional modern medicine and alternative therapies.
3) Specific populations in which the Hospice approach may or may not
be appropriate (e.g. terminally ill, frail elderly).
4) Situations in which the Hospice approach may or may not be
appropriate.
5) How to educate physicians, other health professionals, patients,
families and friends about Hospice care.
