    The world of carbon science has lost one of its greatest giants, Professor Millie Dresselhaus (MIT), who passed away on Feb. 20, 2017 after a 2-week illness. She was Professor Chung's thesis advisor and role model. Chung was the first female Ph.D. student of Dresselhaus, and was also her first graduate student in the field of graphite intercalation compounds - a subject that started her groundbreaking work on nanocarbons. This photo was taken at the Carbon 2016 Conference in July 2016. It shows Dresselhaus, Chung and some of Chung's students, even a student of Chung's former student. Four generations are represented in this photo. An obituary written by Chung has appeared in Nature in March 2017. Below are the obituary, her Wikipedia page and other articles.
