LIS 506: Introduction to Information Technology
- General Course Information:
This course teaches the fundamental vocabulary, concepts, and practice of information techonology. Basic software tools that support various library and and information service settings are also learned. Some of the topics that will be covered in class include computing basics, networking, database technology, web technology, information retrival, and system design and evaluation.
Provides all the infomation needed realted to the course including weekly topics, lab exercises, readings, and assignment due dates.
- Homework Assignments:
Explains what the assignments entail and what student responsiblities are. These are to be completed in the first half of the semester
There are two projects in LIS 506. One is a group project creating a website and the other is creating a database.
