Hi there! I am Darasy, a senior student majoring in BS in Computer Science and BA in Mathematics at SUNY, University at Buffalo. I am also an undergraduate research assistant of the Embedded Sensing and Computing (ESC) group in Computer Science and Engineering Department and currently doing research projects under the direction of Dr. Wenyao XU, in which my research are about smart health and cybersecurity. In computer science field, generally, I am a passionate student in the field of artificial intelligent and machine learning; I wish to apply my AI knowledge into the medical field.

Research and Class Projects

A Deep Learning Based Framework for Instant Fall Detection in Home-Based Exercise Programs (June 2018 - Present)

    A monitoring tool for home-based exercise programs that detects fall motion of the participant. The device is helpful to reduce life-threatening incidents that might occur while the participant is inside the room alone. The model design involves heavy usage of deep learning to obtain the human skeleton, logical reasoning to differentiate fall motion from other activities, and geometry-based methods to compute the fall conditions. This project is under the supervision of Dr. Wenyao Xu and advised by Jerry Ajay.

Foor Shape Analysis using Smartphone (August 2018 - Present)

    A smartphone app for foot shape analysis. In this project, we build algorithm to classify each food shape into one of the 5 roots using deep learning approach: Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Germantic, and Celtic. Our data will be useful for human health as foot shape structures provide important information about the diseases such as Bunion.

Curbell Medical - Characterizing Human Movement Using a Wearable Device (August 2018 - Present)

    The goal of this project is to collect and process data from a wearable device, such as an accelerometer, to reliably differentiate between different human movements such as standing up, and reaching out for items. The information that we generate will be helpful for nurses to analyse when patients need immediate assistance. The project involves the use of multiple Machine Learning classifiers: ANN, KNN, and HMM.

    A web-based 2D game developed using Javascript which is similar to Space Invader, in which the player plays as police to eliminate all the enemies under the time limit. In this project, I was the lead developer for AI components of NPCs, where I had developed the algorithm of autonomous direction and speed changing.

Compiler (February 2018 - May 2018)

    A compiler that is built based on a computer language provided by Dr. Alphonce using Bison, Yacc, and C language. In this class project, I am a lead developer of lexical analysis, intermediate code generation, and optimizations, and a co-developer of syntax and semantic analysis.

Glasses Classifier (August 2017 - December 2017)

    Building a classifier to differentiate whether people in the picture wearing glasses using a multi-layer neural network based on Tensorflow. The model is then trained, validated and tested to ensure high accuracy rate.

Global Development Community Program/Green Power Now In Chengdu Project (August 2014 – September 2014)

    I was an exchange participant chosen by AIESEC Cambodia to work in Chengdu, China in which I involved with various NGOs on environmental protection, tutored students in Sichuan province, and did a report for the project.
