Daniels Lab - Research Team

Dr. Daniels is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and a member of the Behavioral Neuroscience Training Program. He is also affiliated with the interdisciplinary program in Neuroscience and the department of Pharmacology & Toxicology. 

 

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 and did postdoctoral training with Steven Fluharty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Naomi graduated from Boston University before doing post-baccalaureate work at the University of Southern Maine. Naomi joined the lab in the fall 2008 semester and is working toward her doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience.

 

Liz ("Lazer") joined the Daniels Lab in 2006 and graduated with her Ph.D. in 2011. She is currently working as a postdoc in the Department of Psychiatry in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

The title of her dissertation is: "The effects of ghrelin on body fluid homeostasis."

 

Kim graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before joining the lab in the Fall 2008 semester. She is currently working toward her doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience.

Aniko was an undergraduate in Psychology before joining the lab as a full-time research technician. She is the lab "mom" and everybody in the lab panics when she takes a vacation.

Jess did her graduate work with Lisa Eckel at Florida State University before a brief postdoc at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She joined the Daniels lab in the fall of 2011.

Pete graduated from SUNY Brockport and joined the lab in the fall 2007 semester. He is currently working toward his doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience.

The lab has been fortunate to have expert technical assistance from Ethan Gable, Erica Nowak, and Alex Caven. The lab also trains a number of undergraduates each semester.  These students help with experiments and general laboratory maintenance before being assigned an independent project.
