Daniels Lab - Research Team

Dr. Daniels is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and the director of the Behavioral Neuroscience Training Program. He is also affiliated with the interdisciplinary program in Neuroscience and the department of Pharmacology & Toxicology.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001 and did postdoctoral training with Steven Fluharty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

Naomi graduated from Boston University before doing post-baccalaureate work at the University of Southern Maine. Naomi joined the lab in the fall 2008 semester and is working toward her doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience.

Liz ("Lazer") Baase is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Pete Vento is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Kim graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before joining the lab in the Fall 2008 semester. She is currently working toward her doctorate in Behavioral Neuroscience.

Jess did her graduate work with Lisa Eckel at Florida State University before a brief postdoc at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She joined the Daniels lab in the fall of 2011.

Phil joined the Daniels Lab in the Fall 2012 semester after graduating from UB. He is currently working toward his MA in psychology.

Jennifer was an undergraduate at Buffalo State College before joining the laboratory in August 2014 as a Master's student.

The lab has been fortunate to have expert technical assistance from Ethan Gable, Erica Nowak, Alex Caven, and Aniko Marshall. The lab also trains a number of undergraduates each semester. These students help with experiments and general laboratory maintenance before being assigned an independent project. The lab is always looking for undergraduate assistants.
