Personal Statement
I am a very punctual, organized person. I am a planner and goal oriented. My plans for next year have changed due to a decision that I needed to make. I have had success in both hockey and golf on a national level of competition. I was seriously committed to not going to college in ’08/’09 so that I could play hockey and then go to a college that I wanted to go to in ’09 and both study and play hockey. After thinking about this career path, I realized that this was not the realist approach and I now I am more comfortable with the idea of going to college for business. I love to compete and hope to play golf on a college golf team.
I am a confidence guy. I am not the greatest test taker but my work ethic is strong. I think that the only way I have succeeded is that I try to give 100% in everything that I do. Over my first three years at my college prep high school, I feel that I have learned to determine the difference between the “forest and the trees.” As a result I have accomplished a great deal academically.
Extracurricular activities are
incredibly important for me since I think my participation has allowed me to
mature as a person. I have completed a
fair amount of community service hours at the Food Pantry, Food Shuttle and the
free health clinic called Light House.
These experiences have been eye opening and humbling. I now appreciate what I have much more than
ever before. Balancing my weekly commitment to outreach with my hockey and golf
schedule has been challenging. In the
fall of both ’06 and ’07 I was in cities such as
